Qualification: Essential

Graduate/post graduates in Geology, Seismology, Engineering, Architecture Town Planning, MSW, Disaster Management or in related field. 
Qualification: Desirable:

Computer Application (MS Office Word & Excel etc.) Candidates having work experience in
Disaster Management works of State Government will get preference.
Salary:
:
Fixed remuneration of Rs. 40,000/- per month.  TA/DA as applicable for office duty
Job requirement

(1). Coordination between State Disaster Management Authority and the CSIR-NEIST

(2). Facilitate organization of meetings, workshops, awareness generation campaign within the State, collect field information and data relating to earthquake scenario project development
Desirable
:
Proficiency in English and local language,
Communication skills to interact with Large public gathering and Government Officials. The candidate is expected to travel frequently for data collection, organizing meetings and coordination work.  
Age limit (as on 1st Sept 2013)
:
Candidates should not be below 27 years of Age as on 1st Sept 2013.  However, age limit will be relaxed in case of experienced candidates with sound physical health.
            Detail job requirement:
            The Coordinating Officers will carry out the following assigned tasks:
         Assist CSIR-NEIST in data collection for developing Earthquake Scenario in coordination with the respective State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMAs).
         Assist NDMA, State Departments and other Stakeholders in awareness generation programme, conduct of training/ workshops for engineers/ architects on Rapid Visual Screening, school children on earthquake safety, Response Officials on IRS and Tabletop Simulation Exercise followed by mock drills (if any at local level).  
         Facilitate preparations for multi-state Mega Mock Exercise.
         Facilitate integration of earthquake scenario in State Disaster Management Plans
         Assist NDMA and NE States for post-exercise impact assessment
         Facilitate local arrangements for NDRF positioning and its movement for Mega Mock Exercises. 
         Facilitate utilization of funds and timely submission of audited statements/utilization certificates.
         Assist CSIR-NEIST in identifying gaps in developing the final Scenario of repeat of M 8.7 Shillong 1897 earthquake after conduct of inter-state earthquake Mega Mock Exercise. 
         Assist CSIR-NEIST in developing scenario-based state-wise gross assessment of losses.
         Identify the scenario based mitigation interventions for the States after the Mega Mock Exercise. 
         Re-integrate the final scenario in the State Disaster Management Plans of the respective State. 
         Document the process and the nuance of the project, which shall be compiled as handbook/manual for replication of similar projects in other parts of the country. 
         Assist SCOs in the neighbouring States, if required, for efficient project implementation.
The assignments and duties of the SCOs shall be monitored through Regional Coordination Centre at Guwahati  (CSIR-NEIST Jorhat) as per the terms & conditions and guidelines of the NDMA sponsored project. The SCOs will make day-to-day interactions with respective SDMAs/DDMAs, identify gaps to improve the disaster management and preparedness plan as per the guidance and advise of the Regional Coordination Office to prepare for the Mega Mock-drill.

         No TA/DA will be granted for appearing the interview at CSIR-NEIST Jorhat.
